Phoenix, AZ -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/15/2018 -- Internet broadcasting pioneer, producing and syndicating online audio and video, today announced that Tom Voss, one of the Veterans in the award winning documentary " Almost Sunrise" available now on Netflix, will join Suzanne Phillips, host of Psych Up Live, to honor Veteran's Day, on Voice America's Variety Channel. Which airs every Thursday at 11am PT.

"Almost Sunrise" is a compelling documentary which follows two Iraq veterans, Tom Voss and Anthony Anderson, both tormented by the scars of moral injury and the accompanying anger and depression years after their return home. Close to the edge of suicide, the two embark on an extraordinary journey – a 2,700 mile walk across the country from Wisconsin to California, in order to reflect on their haunting experiences of war and to ultimately, save themselves. In this episode, we are privileged to have Tom Voss as our guest and to have the opportunity to hear his thoughts and perspectives on moral injury, the aspects of his journey that afforded steps toward remembering, feeling, connecting, self-compassion, connection with nature, breathing and forgiving, across miles and modalities. We will also hear what it meant to return home emotionally, where Tom has come and his on-going mission to help other veterans.

The documentary description:

To All from host Suzanne Phillips: I wanted to share this important documentary and an upcoming show with one of the veterans, Tom Voss in honor of Veterans Day.

Moral Injury is one of the wounds of war we don't speak enough about. Moral injury is a wound of the soul. It is not easily addressed or resolved but healing is possible and is, in fact, a journey. The award-winning documentary "Almost Sunrise" captures that journey.

"Almost Sunrise" follows two Iraq veterans, Tom Voss and Anthony Anderson, both tormented by depression for years after they returned home and pushed to the edge of suicide. The two embark on an extraordinary journey – a 2,700 mile walk across the country from Wisconsin to California, in order to reflect on their haunting experiences of war and to ultimately, save themselves. This film will save lives!
