Planting a tree is an easy way to contribute to the climate crisis, and this project targets to plant about 60,000 of them. This fundraiser is to help them make it real.
Medellin, Columbia -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/21/2013 -- Angela Cuartas and her husband want to do something about the climate crisis. They believe that many small actions can achieve as much (or even more) than one big action. So, they want to start small by planting trees. Planting a tree has a lot of benefits for the ecosystem.
They talked to a reforestation company and they gave them about 60,000 trees to plant, and they found 3 places in Colombia to do it. Now they need funding support to plant them! The couple wants to dedicate themselves to being really good at this simple yet complex task.
They need to cover the expenses of the workers that will do the planting, create a good camping facility to them, with food and a place to rest. Yes, they could do this with volunteers, but they think this is an opportunity to also create work for people in these rural areas. This way they can make an even bigger impact.
If Angela and her husband fail to make their goal, they will plant as many trees as they can with the collected money, but they want to keep doing this on the long term.
This campaign will receive all funds raised even if it does not reach its goal. Funding duration: August 09, 2013 - September 23, 2013 (11:59pm PT).
