prices of these security features will not be made public
Rydalmere, NSW -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/10/2012 -- Recently, the taxpayers in Australia have agreed to pay for security installments in the houses of MPs in light of the recent security threats.
Some of the measures that will be taken using the tax funds include security cameras and grill bars on the windows. Recently, Prime Minister Julia Gaillard’s house has been made secure by large-sized fences being installed right along the sides.
A recent security malfunction, which has triggered these responses, occurred at the Parliament House. The PM was handed a letter by an unknown man who entered while she was giving a live interview.
Some of the high profile influential members of Australia’s political scenario that had such open cases last year included Kevin Rudd, Tony Abbott, Julie Bishop and Bob Brown.
Attorney General Nicola Roxon and another fellow politician were harassed severely by a man who made his hand into a miniature gun and shouted that he’s going to shoot them both.
It was revealed that this unknown man approached both of them right after a court session and claimed that he had them where it was easy to finish them both off. His intentions were murderous, but thankfully both of them were safe due to the security on spot.
The government says that the prices of the security features will not be made public for certain reasons and that the Attorney General case is the definitive reason why these security measures must be taken. However, each case that has occurred in the past is equally important and being looked into by the police.
A representative, according to heraldsun.com.au, further stated,
“The source of funding for the security checks has not been administered and thus, the estimated costs are not revealed, primarily due to protection against breaches.”
