Los Angelas, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/11/2012 -- Regions Financial (NYSE:RF) is +0.05 - +0.68% from the previous close of $7.37. It traded between $7.41 - 7.58 with total traded volume of 17993388 shares. Keep a close eye on RF, as the stock has been showing unusual moves over the past weeks. At Current market price, RF has recovered +163.12% from its 52-week Low of 2.82 and has Pulled back -2.11% from its 52-week high of 7.58. The broad indexes all ended down after the Federal Reserve reported that during July, total U.S. consumer credit declined at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.5%, after increasing at annual rates of 5.3% in June, and 8.7% in May. In the wake of several weak economic reports, including disappointing employment numbers on Friday, investors continue looking hopefully toward Thursday, when the Federal Reserve Open Market Committee makes its next statement. The Goldman Sachs note also raised the firm’s recommendation on Regions Financial Corp. (RF), the 10th biggest U.S. bank by deposits, to conviction buy from buy because the analysts estimate the Birmingham, Alabama-based lender’s shares could increase 35 percent if it cuts branches or sells businesses.

It topped 78.04 last week, but hadn't been drawing big turnover. Polaris has a 96 IBD Composite Rating out of a best-possible 99.

American Apparel (AMEX:APP) is +0.08 - +7.02% from the previous close of $1.14. It traded between $1.14 - 1.24 with total traded volume of 1379675 shares. At Current Market Price, APP is in distance of +22.74% from its 50-day Moving Average price of $0.994 and +35.15% from its 200-day Moving Average price of $0.9027. This has been a great turnaround story, in that the company is actually getting sales and profit traction. APP is in integrated retailer/manufacturer, meaning it makes - rather that outsources - the clothes its stores sell. The top line was very solid in August, up 24% on a same-store sales basis. Better still, the company should be able to swing back to a full-year profit of $0.06 per share in 2013.
