The objective of this fundraiser is to raise funds to build a Heritage Centre telling King Robert the Bruce's (1274-1329) heroic story in his battle for freedom for Scotland.
Glentrool, UK -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/19/2013 -- Barry Donnan set up a small Charity in the South-West of Scotland in 2012; a non-profit charitable trust named The King Robert the Bruce Heritage Trust. This trust has one main aim - to build a heritage centre in Dumfries and Galloway telling the heroic story of Robert the Bruce's (1274-1329) life from his birth in Ayrshire through his life to his eventual death at Cardross in 1329. Bruce was a knight, a warrior, a King - eventually, a statesman, a military genius and fought at great personal cost to himself and his family and friends to free an entire nation from oppression, domination and injustice and countless invasions.
Contributing to this campaign and helping Barry achieve his goals will make history in Scotland. The rich heritage, culture and the men who shaped it will for the first time be told and open for those who wish to learn, understand and explore it more deeply.
The King Robert the Bruce Heritage Trust needs to raise £100,000. This will allow them to buy a small area of land and construct an eco friendly and sustainable building, and equip it with their intended displays of medieval equipment, storyboards, and hands on history. It will be around the Galloway Hills. This is an area renowned in Scotland for its outstanding natural beauty and an area visited by many tourists.
This campaign will receive all funds raised even if it does not reach its goal. Funding duration: September 06, 2013 - November 05, 2013 (11:59pm PT).
