Peru approved 4,668 mining concessions to 582 businesses in 2012, higher from 3,100 the preceding year, the Lima-based newspaper stated, quoting the country’s Ingemmet mining industry association. BHP received 144 of the licenses, while Buenaventura was allowed 100 and Barrick 84, Gestion stated.
