On Tuesday Kurds said that regional President Massoud Barzani met with Exxon Chairman and CEO Rex Tillerson in Switzerland and discussed company activities giving no further details. Tillerson's talks followed a rare meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.
In 2011 Exxon signed a deal with the Kurds to hunt for oil in their region and in nearby disputed territories infuriating Baghdad.
Monday’s meeting has prompted speculations of reconsidering the plans of Exxon to sell a key stake in Iraq's south and focus instead on the Kurdish contract.
Shares of SAP AG (ADR) (NYSE:SAP) surged 1.70% as the company posts a 14% rise in its revenue from software and software-related services although the net earnings for the quarter were down by 8%.

Wednesday SAP said of earning €1.1 billion or $1.4 billion in the October-December quarter, down from nearly €1.2 billion a year earlier. Software and software-related service revenue, was up to €4.23 billion from €3.72 billion.
Earnings for fiscal 2012 were low by 18% at €2.83 billion, but revenue increased by 16% at €13.16 billion.
For the current year the company projects a slower growth in revenue from software and software-related services.
