Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Josh Waltzman Discusses the Benefits of CoolSculpting with eHealth Radio

Long Beach, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/05/2018 -- Dr. Josh Waltzman recently appeared on eHealth Radio to discuss the benefits of CoolSculpting, a revolutionary procedure that reduces fat without surgery. Host Eric Michaels began the segment by asking how CoolSculpting differs from other popular body contouring procedures.

As Dr. Waltzman explained, CoolSculpting is a "no surgery, no needles, no downtime type of procedure that can be done in the office with literally no anesthesia." Unlike invasive treatments, CoolSculpting is comfortable and virtually pain-free, allowing patients to catch up on work or nap during the treatment session.

Dr. Waltzman explained to listeners that this innovative technology can "freeze about 20-25% of the fat cells in the given treatment and over the following three months, those fat cells will be eliminated by the body permanently."

Dr. Waltzman also provided tips and advice for those considering this treatment. He stated that if the patient gains more than about five pounds during the course of treatment, it can make it difficult to track the overall progress, so patients should maintain a healthy lifestyle and stay at a stable weight. And unlike invasive procedures, such as liposuction and tummy tuck surgery, CoolSculpting only treats superficial fat. "If you can squeeze it," Dr. Waltzman said, "then you can probably freeze it. And that's the best type of fat for CoolSculpting."

One of the main advantages of this fat-freezing procedure is that there is absolutely no downtime and very minimal side effects. When asked if there is any special aftercare required, Dr. Waltzman indicated that some patients might benefit from mild compression, but otherwise, "there is literally nothing the patient has to do."
