Breville Ikon Juicer: Review of the Latest Model

Like some of the other Breville’s high-end juicers, Breville Ikon is a popular centrifugal juicer for extracting juices of relatively harder fruits.

Released in 2008, Breville Ikon Juicer's first model immediately stood out of the market at the time because of its advanced functionality. While it is true there are several other competing centrifugal juicers that give similar results as Breville Ikon, the latter’s newest models are still more affordably priced. Furthermore, Breville’s brand continues to prove their good quality of products by using great materials and manufacturing products that receive good feedback.

A user named 'Groovy Vegan', wrote on Amazon’s review page, “The Breville BJE510XL Ikon 900-Watt Variable-Speed Juice Extractor is the third juicer I've owned, and is definitely my favorite.” He further went on to explain its benefits.

- Easy set-up: As per the reviewer, Breville Ikon juicer is very quick to assemble and get it up & running fast. He also mentions there are only three main pieces to put together.

- Neat and Organised: Groovy Vegan writes, “The juice ends up in the pitcher, the pulp goes to the pulp basket, plus some residual of each ends up in the juicer to be cleaned.” In regards to cleaning, they also added, “The secret to quick clean up is to begin cleaning as soon as you've finished juicing, although you do have a few minutes to drink your juice first. Rinse off the filtration basket and vigorously scrub half of each of the three sections at a time with the nylon scrubber, rinsing each half section before moving on to the next. This should remove 90 to 90% of the pulp debris.”

- No stain: Despite having acrylic parts, many consumers have reported they have not seen any stains after immediate cleaning.

Some consumers have reported higher noise levels than an average centrifugal juicer. “Breville ikon juicer performs great for hard fruits, but for softer ones like blueberries, it’s better to use a masticating juicer instaed. Secondly, for people concerned about the noise levels, I’d recommend an omega j series juicer, which are a lot quieter.
