Rochester, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/12/2013 -- CashAdvance.com, a website that connects consumers with short-term loans, announced that they will be serving as a sponsor for the upcoming Festival of Food in Rochester, New York.
The Festival of Food will be the 10th annual event of its kind, taking place on September 16th at the Rochester Public Market. It is hosted by FoodLink, an organization that strives to “provide hunger relief, eliminate the root causes of hunger, improve health, and promote economic development,” which they do by distributing food to various agencies and working to empower individuals with agriculture and nutrition programs. Ultimately, they hope to eliminate hunger in the community by building a sustainable food system and making sure individuals have access to nutritious food.
The Festival of Food is FoodLink’s biggest event of the year and is the largest independent tasting event in Upstate New York. It will include the participation of over 100 local businesses, such as restaurants, breweries, wineries, caterers, bakeries and farms, who will be offering food and drink to attendees. The Festival presents a great opportunity for businesses to not only support a good cause, but broaden their customer base and get to know people in the local community. Guests of the event will get to sample all the delicious fare for the cost of a $50 ticket (or $60 at the door), which will go to benefit FoodLink and their mission to provide hunger relief. Organizers predict a turnout of over 1,200 guests at the Festival of Food, which will be an evening event going from 6-9pm on Monday, September 16th.
A spokesperson for CashAdvance.com explained their reasons for sponsoring the event, saying, “An event that brings together good people and good food is something that anyone should be able to get behind. But an event that brings together good people and good food for a good cause is something that you just can’t ignore. We jumped at the opportunity to become a sponsor for FoodLink’s Festival of Food, and are proud to be part of making the event possible. Access to nutritious food for people living in poverty is an issue that doesn’t get enough attention in our country, and we applaud FoodLink for working to bring it to people’s attention.”
