Bastrop, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/22/2013 -- CashAdvance.com announced recently that they would be supporting the upcoming TAAO & ITCA Conference and Expo, the 74th of its kind, taking place in Bastrop, Texas.
The Texas Association of Assessing Officers is a nonprofit organization that aims to promote the mutual interests of property tax professionals throughout the state. They provide a full range of state-mandated courses as well as additional courses and seminars that are designed to help elevate the profession. Their annual conference provides an outlet for sharing their best practices and networking with other professionals in the field.
This year’s conference will take place on August 25th – 28th at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort. It will play host to over 400 property tax professionals who will learn, connect, and have fun.
Although the conference officially begins on the 25th, attendees are encouraged to arrive a day early for an Instructor Continuing Education Workshop, part one of a Property Tax Math Workshop, and a conference committee meeting. On the first real day of the conference, part two of the Property Tax Math Workshop will begin in the morning, with registration at noon, followed by an opening keynote speech from Deborah Cartwright, Director of Comptroller’s Property Tax Assistance Division. The day continues with a session on ethics with Sands Stiefer of Harris CAD, the TAAO and ICTA annual meetings, then ending with a buffet dinner and exhibit hall opening. The rest of the weekend consists of a golf tournament, a fun run, a bingo fundraiser, sessions on performance evaluations, best practices, open records, truth in taxation, and more, plus an ice cream social and President’s Dinner.
