Cherrystone Auctions Hosts a Successful Sale of Rare Stamps and Postal History of the World in October

Cherrystone Auctions, a New York City stamp house, hosted a successful Sale of Rare Stamps and Postal History of the World on October 16-17, 2018. The public stamp auction featured a total of 1,627 lots with most lots fetching several hundred dollars and others several thousand dollars.

 

New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/20/2018 -- Cherrystone Auctions hosted a major public stamp auction mid last month. The auction was held at the company's New York City galleries on the 16th and 17th of October, 2018, and it featured 1,627 philatelic lots.

Cherrystone Auctions sold all the 1,627 lots featured in its recently concluded Sale of Rare Stamps and Postal History of the World. The public stamp sale was held on October 16-17, 2018, in the company's galleries at 119 West 57th Street, Suite 316 New York, NY 10019. The auction featured properties of various owners and estates from all over the world, including Ernest Wheeler's flight and space covers and autographs, additional selections from the Scouts of the World collection, Vito Bianco's stock of Italian area and many others. There were solid selections of United States, Great Britain and British Commonwealth, Latin and South America, European Countries with Austria, Belgium, France, Germany & Italy, along with their respective Colonies, including Poland, Russia, Spain and Switzerland; rarities from China and other Asian material. As always, the sale contained 150+ large lots and collections, with individual country collections, worldwide accumulations in cartons, cover lots, and more. A limited number of printed catalogues were available on request.

Cherrystone Auctions hosted its October 16-17, 2018 Sale of Rare Stamps and Postal History of the World in four sessions. Many lots fetched hundreds of dollars and a good number were auctioned for several thousand dollars. A 1902 10sh Great Britain official accompanied by a 1956 BPA certificate originating from the 1947 Harmer & Rooke find fetched $32,500. 1941 10c rose-50 Lire Italian Fiscal stamps went for $15,000.
