San Francisco, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/30/2012 -- For couples living in the Midwest that have tried various fertility treatments but have failed to see results, can count on another development as Fertility Centers of Illinois and Donor Egg Bank USA have partnered up to offer a completely new treatment option.

The concept of frozen sperm is very common in the field, but fertility through frozen donor eggs is not. The exclusive collaboration between the two pioneers consists of over 100 fertility specialists from around the country that have come together to in the region to make it available.

Donor eggs are not a new concept either, but in the past, women who had to choose the option of using donor eggs due to being unable to produce their own, needed to be fresh from the contributor. But now, frozen donor eggs from givers, can be used to do the same and in the same amount of time as well.

Synchronization between menstrual cycles of the donor and woman, who will carry the baby, may take anywhere from three to 12 months, depending on certain conditions after undergoing various tests.

"Frozen egg banking is a transformative technology that is changing the industry approach to fertility treatment," says reproductive endocrinologist with Fertility Centers of Illinois, Dr. Brian Kaplan, reported by ourmidland.com. "By using frozen eggs, couples can reach a diverse donor database, cut costs, and significantly reduce treatment time."

The frozen donor eggs are immediately available and couples will be required to complete an In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) cycle during a one to two month timeframe, which is believed to be cost-saving in the long run.

Luckily, for those couples who had financial restraints when dealing with donor eggs prior to the availability to frozen ones, will now find it easier to breathe with this new treatment option being half of what a fresh donor egg IVF cycle is estimated to cost ($25,000-$38,000).
