With the successful research and development of APICAL Foodie, an organic product that can help reduce global food waste, the company hopes to change the way people live their lives in the 21st century.

In addition, the newly developed APICAL Foodie is made from an Australian beneficial microorganism that has the capacity to keep pathogens away from the produce. This process is conducted in a safe and washable manner and it substantially reduces maturation and ripening rates. This allows the fruits and vegetables to travel long distances and be stored for many days, while still looking and tasting fresh.

"APICAL Foodie is not harmful to humans, animals or the environment and it does not contain heavy metals, toxic molecules or bad microorganisms." Said Gustavo while introducing the project on Kickstarter. "In fact, this agricultural product was found to extend produce shelf-life from days to many weeks, and it can be used as either a pre- or post-harvest coating." He added. According to Gustavo, APICAL Foodie, can be used in farms, processing facilities, greenhouses and vertical farms, aquaponics, and both commercial and domestic kitchens.
