Denis and Joyce Dalaba's Campaign is about achieving their goal of building a mathematics specialism school in their village.
Sokabisi-Bolga, Ghana -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/26/2013 -- Denis and his wife Joyce are both natives of Northern Ghana and currently work at a highly successful secondary school in England. Denis teaches mathematics and his wife is a higher-level teaching assistant for Maths.
They have seen first-hand the challenges of attending school in Northern Ghana with the barest minimum of resources. The couple set themselves a goal to establish a state of the art school in their humble village of Sokabisi-Bolga Ghana. In addition to being a site for providing education, the school will also be a community hub, including library services, sports, cultural, drama and art centre.
Denis and Joyce have bought land in their home village of Sokabisi, have completed the paper work and have been granted the building permit for the school building. They have also started the construction of the building.
Now they need funding support to buy raw materials (cement, gravel, sand, plaster and paint, water, transporting raw materials etc) and pay labor to complete the classrooms, offices, toilet, water supply, electricity etc. The project has been estimated to cost about £150,000.
This campaign will receive all funds raised even if it does not reach its goal. Funding duration: August 11, 2013 - October 10, 2013 (11:59pm PT).
