StubHub reports that the demand for Broncos tickets has increased, including tickets for the season opener. Many blame it on one member of the team that everyone seems to love: Peyton Manning.

The steep rise in casual fans interest seems to be due to “Manning Mania”. What Manning Mania has created are fans who may not otherwise be interested in purchasing tickets coming out in record numbers to support the team.

According to one fan Patricia Gallegoes, “He’s going to win and bring the spirit back like Elway did to the team.”

It looks like Gallegoes is not the only one who sees Manning as the lifeblood of the team. Sales are showing that getting a ticket to Sports Authority Field at Mile HIgh “a tougher ticket to get,” ccording to the Broncos. Even the club levels and suites are reporting higher sales according to the Broncos ticket sales director. He also stated that “Reserved seats have been sold out since 1970.”

Longtime season ticket holder Jim Luethke says that from what he has seen the secondary market prices for Broncos tickets are even higher with the Manning hype. He should know after twenty years of holding coveted season tickets. “They’re very expensive, like $500, $600, $700 apiece on the secondary market,” said Luethke.

According to StubHub and other sites, the average price for a 2012 Broncos ticket in the secondary market will run a fan about $298.97. That mark is up nearly 64% from last season. The prior season saw fans pay about $182.69, making it the largest increase of any NFL team and the fourth-most expensive team for this year behind the Chicago Bears at $377.39.
