Derby, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/29/2016 -- Recent news articles have drawn attention to the fact that droppings have been discovered at Derby wholesalers that supplies vegetables and fruits to a multitude of local restaurants, takeaways and cash-and-carries on a regular basis. The droppings were found in the wholesalers main store room, and one local company, Tropicanna Horticulture, are warning that locals should now consider growing their own produce.
After health and hygiene inspectors discovered dropping underneath a unit holding herbs and team the Wholesale Market was immediately handed a one star rating – which is almost the worst that can be received. A more detailed report has also stated that in addition to this, even more droppings were found located next to the shutter of the main unit. Furthermore during the same inspection it was found that the staff toilet sinks did not provide hot water, soap or hygienic and required hand drying facilities.
With an obvious rat infestation in the area, the Wholesale Market is said to be getting demolished next year and moving to most appropriate premises, however until then it could be the greatest option for people to consider where they're getting their fruit and veg from – with one superior solutions being that of hydroponics growing.
