An apartment caught fire in Phoenix due to owner putting the battery of e cig to charge which ultimately started a fire.
Dallas, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/30/2013 -- A man in phoenix who kept his E Cig for charging in the wall had his apartment in sparks due to overloaded battery of the e cig. The smoke detector alarm went up as soon as there was smoke which was caused by the fire. Stephen Shopshire a 22-year-old switched from regular cigarettes to electronic cigarette three months ago to save money.
Shopshire says,” I was thinking, 'Yeah, I'm going to save money, I'm going to be healthier, it's going to work out,". "We ended up putting our lives in jeopardy". Shopshire's story is rather strange. Earlier too A car in the Valley was badly damaged after it caught fire because of an e cig left in the charger, fire officials said. Another car was damaged in Salt Lake City for the same reason in July. There has been no medical case registered as caused by vapor cigarettes, which makes this is the first widely reported accident triggered by e cig.
E cigarette are battery run devices which eliminate the health risk caused by smoke. There are millions of people puffing on e cigarettes and no such case has come into light or heard of, says a local. Thomas Kiklas, co-founder of the Tobacco Vapor Electronic Cigarette Association says, “The industry knows of no problems with the cigarettes or batteries exploding”. Investigators possibly don’t know about the electronic cigarette brand or type or the battery of the e cig Shopshire used.
Experts at DigitalSmoke.org say,” This is just one case, which may also have been caused by negligence of the owner. Though the chance that the e cig battery triggered the fire is also there which makes it very important that customers review products and their features well before buying so that they can buy the best e cig instead of buying e cig from any random brand”.
DigitalSmoke.Org is a leading e cig reviews site that aims to inform electronic cigarette smokers about the best products available, based on the reviews that are conducted in an unbiased manner that does not favor any brand or brand owner. All reviews are conducted by a team of highly capable skilled staff.
