By showcasing academic achievements, students are able to garner donations from supporters to further their educational career. Designed to make scholarships available to all students regardless of grades or background EduDharma aims to make online educational funding available to students nationwide.Edudharma.com is a crowd funding platform for helping students from economically weaker sections to pursue their dreams. During the pilot stage Edudharma.com has supported 200+ Students across India to raise funds for their Academic fees, Sports, Innovation and Social needs. Recently the Android and IOS Mobile application for Edudharma was launched by Shri. Amitabh Kant IAS, CEO of NITI AYOG, Govt. of India.
Edudharma has announced the successful Series A fund raising round from Mr. George Molakal, American Investor and CEO of Alcor Fund, A graduate of Harvard Business School and Oxford University. George is keen to grow the company to a $200 million rollout within the next three years and reaching out to all five continents.
The core value behind Edudharma is to create a more direct and transparent channel for alumni to connect with students, in turn supporting alumni engagement in on-campus programs, Student needs and initiatives. Rather than crowd funding being the focus of the platform, we see it as a technological tool for pooling resources from Alumni's and supporters for the institution and universities.
Edudharma has already partnered with 85+ institutions and universities in India and has supported various crowd funding campaigns by universities in South India. With the Series A funding the team is looking to advance the technology with various features and expand the partnerships with institutions and universities across India and Global level.
This is the 1st Social Enterprise to raise Series A Funding in India in the space of Education and University Crowd funding.
