Madalena is an energetic little girl. The 1 year old girl is very cheerful and a sweet.
Rotterdam, Netherlands -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/24/2013 -- It was the 2nd of November 2012, when it was revealed that Madalena has a Neuroblastoma with an N-mync abnormality in her adrenal gland. Her Neuroblastoma was discovered by accident. When her mother Elvin was 20 weeks pregnant of Madalena, a cyst was found in her lung. When she was 6 months, she had to undergo a ct scan to check if the cyst had grown. Eventually the cyst was no longer the main concern, but the tumor in her adrenal gland.
Madalena has already done 2 MIBG therapies and just finished her 4th chemo treatment. She has yet to be operated, she will also have 2 chemo treatments and then 1 more high dose chemo and radiation. After all these, she still needs to go to America for the immunotherapy treatment.
Only this therapy can give her an extra 20% more chance of cure. At present day, patients like her have only a 30% survival rate. Like every parent, Elvin and her husband wants to do everything and try to get their little girl all possible opportunities in the hope that they can save her.
The funding goal of $25000 is to cover the expenses for treatment and other associated expenses.
This campaign will receive all funds raised even if it does not reach its goal. Funding duration: August 27, 2013 - September 11, 2013 (11:59pm PT).
