New South Wales, Australia -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/22/2018 -- The released of ESdat Server Version 3 introduces some exciting new features to Earth Science Information Systems (EScIS) Environmental Management Software.
ESdat is a specialist environmental database system; used to validate, import, analyze and report a broad spectrum of Environmental Data as Exceedance Tables, Graphs, Maps, statistics and more. The ESdat Server Web Interface extends the most popular functionality that is available on ESdat Desktop, the reporting of Laboratory Report data, and makes it available through a browser, as well as offering new functionality that is suited to a web-based environment.
With ESdat Server Version 3, the LSPECS (Laboratory Sample Planning Electronic COC and Signoff) extension is simplified, and Silverlight replaced. LSPECS has been rebuilt from the ground up with some significant improvements and upgrades. With Silverlight gone, LSPECS uses other browsers, including Chrome; this means that crucial LSPECS features, such as Lab submissions, are now also available via a tablet.
Maintaining ESdat Server is even easier to keep ChemCodes, Chemistry Profiles, Unit Conversions, and Environmental Standards up to date. ESdat Server 3 enables users to sync and compare against the relevant ESdat Online regional Servers in North America, Australia and England. It's possible to keep up to date with Emerging Compounds (such as PFAS) by viewing and comparing against those within ESdat Online and to add new compounds as required.
Chemistry Profiles (e.g. Chem Name/Order/Group and Output Units) can also be compared with the ESdat Online Reference Chemistry Profile, to keep systems up to date. The integrated suggestion function allows changes to the Reference Profile.
Compare and import Environmental Standards with those on the ESCIS Reference Database with a few mouse clicks providing an alternative to importing Environmental Standards from http://www.esdat.net/Environmental_Standards.aspx. Users retain the ability to customise the Environmental Standards to their own needs.
In ESdat Server Version 3 with Map Layouts, WMS & WFS are added to get a bigger picture. ESdat Server now supports Map Layouts for Hosted and Onsite installations, greatly enhancing the ability to visualise and interpret your data. GIS layers can be added to the ESdat Server Map View utilising WMS or WFS layers (Web Map/Feature Service). Many free WMS layers are available online (e.g. OpenStreet Maps) and WFS layers are typically managed and published by the GIS team. As with Table and Chemistry Profiles, Map Layouts can be customised depending on needs and easily selected, giving ready access to the correct Map Layout for a project.
