FAST of Florida Aims to Provide Meals to Hungry Children

Clearwater, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/21/2018 -- FAST of Florida understands that no child should grow up hungry in America. That's why the company's employees are coming together to support the No Kid Hungry campaign, an initiative run by Share Our Strength, a nonprofit organization combating childhood hunger. In fact, from April 1, 2018, to September 30, 2018, FAST of Florida is attempting to donate up to 15,000 meals to children in need.

The No Kid Hungry campaign began in 2010 and works to end childhood hunger by connecting kids to effective nutrition programs like school breakfasts, after-school meals, summer meals, and food skills and education. The campaign includes novel ways to supplement and support healthy eating habits to its kids in need, including adding breakfast as a school meal to ensure children get proper nutrition for the day, which keeps them motivated and ready to learn, all while instilling a sense of community to the meal.

It also offers critical after-school meals for less-than-fortunate students. For some of these children, school lunch might be the only meal until the next day's breakfast. No Kid Hungry understands the need to keep children fed, active, and alert throughout the entire day which is why they provide these services.

FAST of Florida's team looks forward to coming together to provide summer meals for hungry kids across the country. To ensure their success, the staff at FAST of Florida have set their contribution goals and will be donating to the nonprofit over the next several months.
