Mind therapy helps quarterback Brandon Weeden in performing
San Francisco, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/18/2012 -- Oklahoma State Football continues to set a brilliant winning record this season as veteran quarterback, Brandon Weeden, returns with a more focused mind.
Throughout the season, the 28-year-old quarterback has been seeing hypnotherapist, Paige Wacker, regularly, which has helped the star player adopt a more positive attitude and a more focused mind, bringing a positive result on the field.
While sitting on an easy chair in a room with dim lights, Weeden heard the words “Breathe in through your nose, and breathe out, Let go.” at least once a week before the games to relax his mind. During his session with Paige Wacker, Weeden is told to imagine his problems like clouds floating out of the window and the sunlight is draping the body with positive feelings and thoughts. It seems like Weeden is adjusting with it so well that he performs the therapy on regular basis.
“Playing quarterback, in particular, is a lot of pressure, a lot of stress. For me, it was more because she relaxed me. She got the mental state of my game (right) as far visioning good things happening all the time, taking the bad thoughts out, whether it was throwing an interception or whatever it may be. I think it’s just taking all the good thoughts and building on those,” Weeden said, according to newsok.com.
Brandon admitted that he was initially a bit hesitant to try it, but Weeden now feels that the training of his mind has given him a new and positive attitude, especially on the field. The coaches and athletes of Oklahoma State have also felt a positive change, which is why Paige Wacker now works with other members of the team as well.
