San Francisco, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/02/2012 -- With the launch of Atari Arcade, the fun and nostalgia of classic video games are available free to anyone with an internet connection.

The site offers eight vintage Atari games, including Asteroids, Centipede, Combat, Lunar Lander, Missile Command, Yars Revenge, Pong, and Super Breakout. Atari plans to offer additional games on the site in time.

The difference between the old versions and the new platform, however, is that the website games have been remade in HTML5 and offer touch support and multi-player capabilities. This allows players to compete with others online.

Although Atari Arcade can be played on any device with a modern browser, Microsoft recommends using Internet Explorer 10 with Windows 8 touch devices. Other browsers will display advertisements.

About Frogger.net
Frogger.net (http://www.frogger.net/) is an unofficial clone of the original classic The Frogger video game, which was introduced by Konami in 1981 as a one-player or two-player game. The game's objective is to move a frog from the bottom to top and overcome the obstacles that come in your way.
