No money? No problem. Indie rapper/singer/producer Edward Jones known as Gaurdian33 has released a digital copy of his latest effort “Here, Heaven, & Hell” in stores worldwide online without spending a dime and doing it all while he was homeless.
Campbell, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/13/2013 -- The album has its official release on Feb. 14, 2013, but can already be found on several music sites and be pre-ordered on Amazon affiliates through the joint efforts of Amadea Music and J 1 S Publishing.
"About six months ago, I was on the side of the highway walking with nothing but the clothes on my back and a laptop on my shoulder. All I had left was my faith in God and the talent he gave me,” says Jones. “I had to either make something happen with what I had, or die trying.”
He set about recording, mixing, and editing his project all by himself. He says he used free trials on software downloads for everything including the mastering of the project, which was rejected by potential distributors several times until he had finally got everything up to professional studio quality, commercial sound. He claims that only God could have done it through him, and he says in the end he wound up telling God to just “use my ears and hands” to get it right. He is no stranger to the stage, and in more prosperous days in the past he has opened up for southern acts like Lil John & The Eastside Boyz, and also met up with the likes of Field Mob and T-Pain through chance meetings in studios where he recorded music and venues where he promoted his tracks.
“If this project doesn't do anything but give someone hope, I’m fine with that. There are too many of our youth giving up on a dream deferred or using unscrupulous means to get something done as a rapper as it is, so maybe this will show that it is possible to do you without doing what somebody else did to put their music out,” lamented Jones. However, after hearing the music, people so far have been giving it good reviews. It has a good chance of leading to something big. “My music speaks of the pain and pleasures of my life,” he says. “It delivers a piece of me to the world.”
