This past December 19th, Gladwyne Montessori had the chance to welcome back alumni Evan Holeman, Liam Walker, Marisa Stancroff, and Scottie and Lily Zelov. Together, these five alumni attended Gladwyne Montessori for a combined thirty-three years. All currently pursuing undergraduate degrees, attending schools such as Cornell University and Carnegie Mellon, the group was treated to lunch in the library, followed by a tour of their old school and the chance to provide wisdom and advice to the current Upper Elementary class. During the meeting with the Upper Elementary class, it didn't take long for both alumni and current students to identify similarities in their experiences such as favorite lessons, events, and games—bringing smiles and laughter to all!
The visiting alumni even had the chance to run into a few of their former teachers along the way. All alumni were presented with the gift of a new book, Gladwyne Montessori: The First 50 Years. The book explores and celebrates the school's history from 1962-2012, and some of the alumni even had the chance to spot photos of themselves from their time at Gladwyne. The educational team at Gladwyne Montessori thanks Evan, Liam, Marisa, Scottie, and Lily for joining them to share their experiences and insights with the current class, wishing them well as they enter the second semester of their college education.
