Yamana posted a profit of $169.2 million, or 22 cents a basic share, up from $89.6 million, or 12 cents a share, a year earlier. Excluding special items, per-share earnings rose to 26 cents from 25 cents. Revenue grew 11% to $629.5 million.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters had forecast a per-share profit of 25 cents on revenue of $665 million.

Barrick Gold Corporation (USA) (NYSE:ABX) shares fell 3.94% and closed at $30.27 in the last trading session. Barrick Gold Corporation (Barrick) is engaged in the production and sale of gold, as well as related activities. Barrick also hold interests in oil and gas properties located in Canada.

Goldcorp Inc. (USA) (NYSE:GG) shares dropped 3.86% to $32.37. Goldcorp Inc. (Goldcorp) is a gold producer engaged in the operation, exploration, development and acquisition of precious metal properties in Canada, the United States, Mexico and Central and South America.

Newmont Mining Corp (NYSE:NEM) shares lost 5.45% and closed at $40.56. Newmont Mining Corporation (Newmont) is a gold producer. The Company’s operating segments include North America, South America, Asia Pacific and Africa. Its North America segment consists primarily of Nevada in the United States, La Herradura in Mexico and Hope Bay in Canada.
