Google Announces That Panda Algorithm Updates Will No Longer Be Publicly Announced

Queensland, Australia -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/20/2013 -- The recent release of Google panda updates shows that many search engine optimization firms are not fully informed of changes to the world's largest search engine.

Recent reports show that updates have been made, but Google has announced that updates will no longer be made public through official channels.

For all future Google panda updates, information will simply be added into the company's indexing process.

Before the most recent update, Google had provided official announcements for it's updates. Users could see information through the company's Twitter feed or on other sites. Now, those who need the information will have to figure it out on their own, with Google's Matt Cutts stating that the most recent update would be out no later than March 18th.

Cutts also stated that future updates would be far more subtle than previous versions as Google panda updates become more easily incorporated into the search engine algorithm.

Earlier updates were made nearly monthly, with previous updates released January 22 and December 21st. This may provide some clues to webmasters and SEO firms as to the probability of the next update.

February 2013 marked the second anniversary of Panda. The original release was designed to help the search engine tackle the problem of spam-filled sites. The idea was that the search engine would drop sites that use sneaky forms of advertising or marketing to the bottom of the rankings. Each subsequent release seems to provide increased sophistication, keeping SEO firms and website owners on their toes!
