Would it help improve the search query of user?
San Francisco, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/12/2012 -- With the growing threats imposed by leading social networks such as Facebook Inc, Google announced on Wednesday that its search engine would extract information from Gmail accounts of users to deliver much personal responses in a quicker manner.
Google claims that this information bridge would prove fruitful for many of its customers, as they would get the relevant search result much faster. To clarify it further, Google said that a search containing the word ‘Amazon’ would pull even emails with the shipping information sent by the online vendor.
In addition, these searched Gmail results will be available on the right side of the main results while the top of the search page would show the answer pulled from the direct email.
For example, the query of ‘my flight’ would reveal airline information imported from Gmail while the same could happen when booking a ticket, making an online reservation at the restaurant or buying a ticket to a concert.
No doubt, Google is the market leader when it comes to internet search but it keeps on making changes to make it service to make it more efficient and relevant while overpowering all threats imposed by social networking websites. The threat imposed is the result of the fact that users can share anything online on these social networking websites.
One issue with this change is that using emails for faster and relevant search results would increase privacy concerns but Google is trying to get rid of that. Users will have to log in into Gmail to participate.
In 2010, Google faced a privacy issue when it plugged personal contact information of Gmail accounts to make a social networking service named Buzz.
After receiving feedback from participants, Google will give the option to its Gmail users to blend in their account into the main search engine.
