PulteGroup, Inc.(NYSE:PHM) shares jumped 5.37% to $16.30. The company on August 15 announced local hiring opportunities for its new corporate headquarters in Atlanta. Gov. Nathan Deal, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and other local business leaders joined PulteGroup for the event at its new corporate offices.

ISIS Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:ISIS) shares gained 10.64% to $30.89. Biogen Idec (NASDAQ: BIIB) and Isis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: ISIS) on Sept. 9 announced that the companies have entered into a broad, multi-year collaboration to leverage antisense technology to advance the treatment of neurological diseases. The agreement combines Biogen Idec's expertise in neurology with Isis' leadership in antisense technology to develop novel therapies to treat neurological disorders. This is the fourth collaboration between the two companies in the last two years.

MGM Resorts International (NYSE:MGM) shares jumped 1.68% to $18.73. The company on Sept. 6 was ordered to rehire a condominium sales employee and pay about $325,000 in damages under whistle-blower provisions of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
The employee worked at The Signature at MGM Grand, a condominium and hotel complex on the Las Vegas Strip, according to a statement yesterday from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
