SUPERVALU INC.(NYSE:SVU) shares gained 0.14% to $7.17. The company on July 24 announced that as soon as practicable on or following August 7, 2013 the Company will grant Mr. Bruce Besanko stock options to acquire 225,000 shares of Company common stock with an exercise price equal to the closing price of a share of Company common stock on the New York Stock Exchange on the grant date and 225,000 restricted stock shares of Company common stock.
Additionally, the company on July 18 posted first-quarter net earnings of $85 million, or $0.34 a share. A cash dividend payment of $0.453125 per share is scheduled to be paid on August 15, 2013. Additionally, the company, on Sept. 3, announced that it has signed a contract with Cairn India Limited for use of the Hercules Triumph (formerly Discovery Triumph) in the Indian Ocean. Total contract value is approximately $36.6 million, which includes approximately $13 million of mobilization and demobilization fees, to be earned over an estimated 110 days.
