Is Apple planning for bigger screen smartphones?
Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/09/2013 -- In the midst of Samsung’s recent launch of Galaxy Note 3 smartphone measuring a screen of 5.7 inches, there are updates coming from tech. world that Apple has begun evaluating the screen sizes ranging from 4.8 to 6 inches. Reports coming do not really suggest whether bigger Apple phones would come this year or not, but certainly they are looking at making bigger screen iPhones in the future.
If launched in the future, it will be the first time we see an iPhone with bigger than 3.5 inches screen. Ever since the launch of its first generation iPhone, Apple has been having 3.5 inch displays on its iPhones.
Though Apple is second to none in few of the markets, particularly North America, they have not been able to find same kind of success in emerging markets, and particularly two biggest emerging markets in the world currently, China and India.
Rumors suggest that Apple is going to launch a cheaper version of iPhone primarily to cater to emerging markets. There have been articles by various industry experts who feel that to push on in growing smartphone markets like China and India, Apple needs to have cheaper gadgets released. They also need to have a wide range of phones priced up and down the spectrum to counter competitors like Samsung, Lenovo, LG etc.
