Silicon Motion Technology (Nasdaq:SIMO) have gotten crushed today, down by 19% at the low, after the company reported third-quarter earnings. Revenue in the third quarter added up to $77.1 million. Adjusted net income came out to $0.54 per share. Both of those figures topped consensus estimates, which were calling for $74.4 million up top and $0.46 per share down below. The third quarter was strong thanks to better-than-expected LTE transceiver orders from Samsung. The real kicker was the guidance. The company said it was originally expecting these sales in the fourth quarter, but they've been shifted forward to the third quarter. As a result, fourth quarter revenue is expected to decline between 3% and 9% sequentially, with non-GAAP gross margin of 44% to 46%. It seems like the expected revenue drop is causing the sell-off, but if it were based solely on sales being shifted -- and not lost -- this would be a case of overreaction. Full-year revenue should grow between 25% and 27%. Silicon Motion Te (NasdaqNM:SIMO) is -1.19 - -8.12% from the previous close of $14.65. It traded between $11.8698 -13.86 with total traded volume of 2583014 shares. At Current Market Price, SIMO is in distance of -9.09% from its 50-day Moving Average price of $14.8058 and -10.83% from its 200-day Moving Average price of $15.0941.

On Wednesday, Vringo requested that jurors be told to ignore cross-examination testimony from its own witness concerning a patent licensing arrangement between The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) and Google. Later on the same day in a mid-trial report, SA‘s Steve Kim contended that Vringo has established a prima facie case for infringement, subsequent to the testimony of a liability expert, but cautioned that Google is ready to bring out its own experts.

GrafTech International (NYSE:GTI) jumped 14% today after reporting earnings. In the third quarter, revenue fell 7% to $321 million but was still $20 million ahead of estimate. Net income fell 26% to $29.6 million, or $0.22 per share, but was still ahead of the $0.18 per share analysts expected. This is really a case of results being "less bad" than any sort of improvement for the company. Management still sees a tough macro economy and cut the top end of its 2012 EBITDA guidance to $245 million from $255 million as a result. I'm not buying into these poor numbers even if they were better than analysts expected. GrafTech Internat (NYSE:GTI) is +1.40 - +14.57% from the previous close of $9.61. It traded between $9.80 - 11.27 with total traded volume of 5542137 shares. At Current Market Price, GTI is in distance of +13.65% from its 50-day Moving Average price of $9.6878 and +7.48% from its 200-day Moving Average price of $10.2442.
