18-year-old Romaine Morrison has launched a campaign to help him achieve his goal to attend the 2013 sitting of the London International Youth Science Forum.
Kingston, Jamaica -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/30/2013 -- Although few words do it justice, LIYSF in short is a two week residential event held at Imperial College, London. It attracts over 350 of the world's leading young scientists aged 17-21 years old, with participants sometimes coming from over 50 countries. The students come together and engage in a programme littered with cutting-edge science. Besides further broadening the science understanding of the participants, it also engages them in learning about different cultures. This year the forum will be held from the 24th July- 7th August.
Two years ago Romaine Morrison was given the great opportunity to attend the London International Youth Science Forum. It was a mind-boggling experience that seemed to eclipse everything else that happened in his life. He vowed to return in the following years and attempted to return in 2012. However, he was not able to meet the final goal.
Now, in 2013, Romaine is giving it another shot to be where his mind is. He is trying to raise a minimum of US$3000 to cover just the costs of airfare and the forum fee, but bumped it up a bit to account for Indiegogo’s percentage, as well the cost of purchasing and shipping rewards for his funders worldwide. If he doesn't reach his entire goal at the end of this campaign the funds will still go towards this, it just means that he will have to fill the gap in some other way.
Visit Romaine’s campaign page and make a donation, with options being available for as small as $10 .
