The manufacturers of the electric cigarette defended the ‘tongue-in-cheek’ advert saying that ‘I think it’s safe to say that our ads could be considered controversial and definitely push boundaries.’ They also believed that due to advertising restrictions they are not allowed to include the product in the advert, and they decided to aim their best e cigarette products at a more adult audience and ensuring that their e cigarettes are only available to smokers over the age of 18.
