Austin, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/04/2013 -- The latest e cigarette ITV ad has created outrage as many are saying that if is crude after it was shown just after the watershed last night and this has resulted in the ITV coming under fire from viewers. They are complaining that ITV has shown what they deemed to be an ‘offensive’ electronic cigarette adverts and this has been bought to the attention of the regulatory authorities. The 20-second commercial shows a woman in a black cocktail dress uttering a series of suggestive phrases before later revealing that it is for e smokeless cigarette and this was screened just after the watershed television watching period ended.

The growing number concerns raised by advertising watchdogs have initiated the launch of a full investigation into the advert which ends in a twist that where she then she makes it clear that she is referencing an e cigarette. Yet many viewers have called the vapor cigarette advert 'disgraceful' and others believed that all it does is to glamorize smoking and many have said that the television advert could give people wrong impression about vaping. A spokesman of the ASA was quoted as saying that they had received a large number of complaints about two TV ads for e cigarettes. The statements was about the two television ads that shows a woman, and the other ad had a man who are both speaking directly to the camera and then ‘complainants object that the language used in the ads is offensive while others object (e cigarette brands) glamorizes e cigarettes and/or smoking.'

The manufacturers of the e cigarette stated that they had created the television advert commercial as a response to European Union ban about showing their product on-screen. The manufacturers of the electric cigarette defended the ‘tongue-in-cheek’ advert saying that ‘I think it’s safe to say that our ads could be considered controversial and definitely push boundaries.’ They also believed that due to advertising restrictions they are not allowed to include the product in the advert, and they decided to aim their best e cigarette products at a more adult audience and ensuring that their e cigarettes are only available to smokers over the age of 18.
