KTPE, a leading thermoplastic elastomer manufacturer, has successfully implemented an energy, water and waste reduction program as well as begun various initiatives to comply with the new ISO 14001 certification.
Duluth, GA -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/17/2014 -- Thanks to numerous improvements taking place at KRAIBURG TPE Americas (KTPE), a leading thermoplastic elastomer manufacturer, the company now holds the ISO 14001 certification. This certification measures how a company develops the process of environmental monitoring. It also creates a roadmap for companies in the measurement of their impact on the environment and how to improve it.
KTPE has successfully implemented an energy, water and waste reduction program as well as begun various initiatives to comply with the new ISO 14001 certification. One initiative that KTPE has assumed is the careful selection of their suppliers, through measuring their commitment to quality and their environment. KTPE is conscious to conduct business with environmentally likeminded companies to positively impact the environment more effectively.
Similarly, another initiative the thermoplastic elastomer manufacturer has imposed is the usage of renewable green energy. KTPE now has the capability of producing compounds with 100% green energy. They have already begun production with distribution partner and customer, Chase Plastics. KTPE supplies a THERMOLAST ® K compound to HQC, Inc. through Chase Plastics. HQC, Inc. is a manufacturer of high-quality custom injection and insert-molded products for medical and packaging companies. HQC, Inc. teamed with Vapur ®, the leading designer of flexible, reusable, handheld hydration products, to bring the innovative SuperCap, a flip-top, tight sealing spout, to life. KTPE’s material is featured on the seal of the SuperCap spout and is custom fit to Vapur’s foldable Anti-Bottle, created to reduce the usage of single-use water bottles, further reducing the negative environmental impact created by disposable containers.
As an environmentally conscious company, Vapur was a great partner for KTPE and its evolving sustainability initiatives. The ISO 14001 certification not only emphasizes a company’s willingness to be environmentally conscious, but also ties into the safety and health aspects of a corporation. There are strict guidelines to abide by and remain in compliance. For this reason, KTPE created the position of Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety Manager, which effective January 6th 2014, Bonnie Sarver has been fulfilling. The awarding of this certification is a symbol of KTPE’s dedication and awareness of its environment and how it continually strives to become a superior manufacturer and company as a whole.
