Merseyside, Manchester -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/11/2012 -- MP for Skegness Mark Simmonds has welcomed the announcement of a boost to funding for green measures across his county totalling almost one-quarter of a million pounds.
Mr Simmonds will see the funds are used to deliver sustainability improvements for homeowners across Lincolnshire, with a focus on delivering increased levels of loft and cavity wall insulation, boiler upgrades and other carbon and energy-saving refits.
He told local publication the East Lindsey Target: "Many people don't realise what support is available. Anyone in Boston and Skegness who is concerned about staying warm should call the Home Heat Helpline and seek advice."
In total, property owners are set to benefit from works up to the value of £243,309 this winter.
Elsewhere, Scottish National Party communities spokesman at Moray Council councillor Gary Coull recently argued all those living in his constituency who have not yet made use of grants to boost the energy efficiency of their properties should act quickly to do so.
