"The Jongen Project" CD will be released after a CD release concert at Jordan Hall on September 22, 2013 at 3 PM.
Worcester, MA -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/15/2013 -- Joseph Jongen lived from 1873 to 1953 and was a Belgian organist, composer and music director. His compositions are richly romantic. He was a superb colorist, especially in his chamber music. His music was greatly influenced by Debussy, Franck and Faure. His chamber music is virtually unknown and under performed, especially in the United States.
The Music of Joseph Jongen is relatively unknown in the United States and therefore, rarely performed. Jongen’s music is deeply emotional, rich, and beautifully written. This repertoire is fresh and the release of this CD is a significant contribution to classical music and the arts. The CD entitled "The Jongen Project" will be released after a concert at Jordan Hall in Boston on September 22nd, 2013 at 3 PM.
Linda Bento-Rei is a freelance flutist, Vice President of the Worcester Symphony Orchestra, the Music Director of the Worcester Symphony Chamber Players and an alumna of New England Conservatory of Music. She has created, organized and up to this point personally funded this project. With the collaboration of twelve outstanding colleagues, many of whom perform with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Pops, the Boston Ballet and the Boston Lyric Opera, she has produced an exciting CD.
The goal of this project is to raise more than $10,000 to fund the completion of this project and to reach out to audience members and fill Jordan Hall on September 22nd.
This project will only be funded if at least $10,000 is pledged by Thursday Sep 12, 3:50pm EDT.
