Linus Dean is traditionally known for his type-driven, bold, yet minimal design sense. Following 12 successful years as a graphic designer, Dean has traded his love of print mediums for something a bit more three dimensional; exquisite hand loomed rugs. Once Dean had composed designs for his modern rugs, he needed to choose the production technique in which to bring them to life. After much research and international travel, he chose the nation of Nepal which has deep ties to neighboring Tibet and their coveted rug making processes, to produce his hand loomed designs. The Tibetan traditional of rug making dates back thousands of years. While rugs are still made in Tibet today, nations such as Nepal have adopted the Tibetan craft, revitalizing this age-old, highly sought after technique.
