Dan Bruer has been appointed Director of Development with The Triangle Land Conservancy. Longistics, a full-service provider of global logistics solutions, has announced that H. Berry Petty, Jr. has been promoted to vice president and general manager of the company’s transportation division. As vice president and general manager of the transportation division, Petty will manage the division’s day-to-day operations and manage customer and vendor relations. Petty began working at Longistics in 1998 and previously served as a controller. A certified public accountant, Petty has served in controller and vice president of finance positions for the past 26 years.

Etherlene Pearce, Executive Director of Hilltop Home, has announced her plan to retire. She has devoted over 40 years of her life to the daily routine of loving and caring for the children of Hilltop Home, beginning in 1960 as a nurse and assuming the director role in 1976. Drawing her to Hilltop Home was the empathy she held for a niece with brain damage and the fact that no facilities existed to care for these children prior to the 1960s. She now looks forward to traveling and visiting family and friends.

This week the National Institute of Statistical Sciences (NISS) is launching a newly designed website after recruiting the services of DesignHammer to undertake the project earlier this year. NISS is an independent research organization formed by organizations in the statistical sciences community, Triangle universities, and organizations in 1991 performing research for predominantly national governmental and industrial clients. Their clients include national governmental and industrial clients including the National Cancer Institute, National Center for Health Statistics and US Department of Health and Human Services.

This week Durham Web Design Company, DesignHammer Media Group LLC has launched NC Transparency, a new site for the John Locke Foundation. The John Locke Foundation, a conservative non-profit North Carolina think tank, sought to create in NC Transparency a new initiative to encourage more public accessibility to government entity information.
