Hytrol is pleased to announce the addition of Jimmy Brandon as chief financial officer, effective January 16, 2017. Brandon is the third CFO in our company's 70-year history.

Hytrol is proud to recognize the employees celebrating their anniversary of dedicated service to the company. Employees with a December anniversary start date have more than 360 years of service collectively.

Hoj Innovations, Hytrol's integration partner, worked with Backcountry to develop a unique solution capable of providing an increase in their logistic footprint and fulfillment space, while reducing processing costs and shipping expenses. The system is comprised of several customized applications, one of which provides a noteworthy approach to the traditional "pick and pass" order fulfillment process. This solution utilizes an overhead conveyor spine to vertically sort product to the three levels of the pick module. This allows the main conveyor line to transport customer-order totes only, while replenishment and empty totes are transported directly to their specified zone.

Hytrol is proud to announce the promotion of Cliff Mullis to Hytrol's Director of Systems Development. Mullis took the position in mid-March. In this role, Mullis will be responsible for business development, new market development and penetration, point-of-sale support for Hytrol integration partners, and for driving end user value.

Hytrol integration partner, Advanced Equipment Company (AEC), provided a pallet conveyor solution for Arcadia Dairy Farm in NC. A customized pallet handling solution for conveying and wrapping pallets was needed at the Arcadia Dairy Farm (juice bottling plant). The carton filler room was expanded because of a new machine.

Engineered for transport of food, packaging, and pharmaceuticals, the Connex plastic conveyor chain was featured in a presentation on Tuesday by Bruce Gray, product manager, at Hytrol during MODEX 2016. The new Connex conveying solution was profiled in Modern Materials Handling magazine. The plastic chain will be offered on Hytrol's aluminum, stainless steel, and powder-coated steel conveyor products in a variety of configurations and with multiple accessories.

George Reyher, Hytrol Director of International Business Development, recommended four steps for businesses when seeking international growth. According to Reyher, "As companies continue gaining market share in their own backyard, more businesses are looking outside their borders to expand their markets. Seeking international sales growth can create a vast number of opportunities for your company— too vast to list them all here —but should be aware that some extra planning may be required."

MHI has announced that Hytrol's Chris Glenn, Vice President of Manufacturing and Engineering, is the winner of the 2016 YPN Mentor Award. This award is given to one MHI member who instills and nurtures talent, advocates for employees, is a positive and inspiring role model, and offers professional guidance. Glenn received the award at the MODEX Industry Night April 6.
