The case, Brown v. Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, alleges employment discrimination on the basis of race under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, a federal law, and the Illinois Civil Rights Act of 2003, a state law. The plaintiffs in the case specifically allege that racial discrimination and harassment are part of the University of Illinois's "standard operating procedure. The case is likely to highlight the harms of racial discrimination in employment and to underscore the steps that employers must take in drafting and enforcing a non-discrimination policy.

Who knew that several of the most prominent names in Georgia's telecommunication industry would end up waging one of the largest battles of the year over a provider’s right to transport services via the internet? Ronald Skates and Kraig Beahn, two highly influential voices who represent two very different entities, are waging what appears to be a nuclear war over an arrangement that continues to add to rising tensions and a steadily mounting public concern. What could they possibly be fighting about? Skates, who serves as the Director of Telecommunications at the Albany Water Gas & Light Commission, recently attempted to file charges against L2Networks with the accusation that the company was providing their VoIP services "over a mutual customer's network." Over the last decade with the advent and the advances of the internet the world has become an increasingly smaller place. You can practically find anything and anybody online. In fact the arrival of social media has brought about a fundamental change in the way we communicate. Statistics show that over 50% of the world’s population is under 30 years old and is online, to the extent, that every one in five couples meet online. While the radio took about 38 years to reach almost 50 million users, internet did the same in a matter of only 4 years. Facebook alone added over 200 million users in less than a years’ time. Give out your name to anyone and the odds are that the very next day you will have a friend request. And if that was not enough People Search websites have made this task of locating and connecting with people even more easy.
