The company on August 13 announced that it has commenced a public offering of 3,500,000 shares of common stock, of which 1,500,000 shares are being offered by the Company and 2,000,000 shares are being offered by selling stockholders. The selling stockholders will grant the underwriters in the offering an option to purchase up to 525,000 additional shares of common stock at the same price per share to cover any over-allotments. The offering is subject to market conditions, and there can be no assurance as to whether or when the offering may be completed.

Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE:S) shares jumped 0.14% to $7.02. Sprint Corp.’s new owner has picked up a bigger stake in the company and it’s planning to buy more. SoftBank Corp. has been buying more Sprint stock over the course of several transactions that began on August 1, raising its stake in Sprint from 78% to slightly more than 79%.
Additionally, the company on July 30 reported an operating loss of $874m, a net loss of $1.6bn and a diluted net loss of 53 cents per share for the quarter including costs related to the Nextel network shutdown. Revenues rose slightly to $8.87bn from $8.84bn a year earlier. In the same period a year ago, the operating loss was $629m, the net loss was $1.4bn and the diluted net loss was 46 cents per share.

Hovnanian Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE:HOV) stock increased 2.12% to $5.30. The company will begin trading ex-dividend on August 12, 2013. A cash dividend payment of $0.453125 per share is scheduled to be paid on August 15, 2013. Shareholders who purchased HOVU stock prior to the ex-dividend date are eligible for the cash dividend payment. This marks the 10th quarter that HOVU has paid the same dividend.

Osiris Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ:OSIR) stock dropped 6.25% to $23.88. The company on August 13 said its Grafix stem-cell treatment for chronic diabetic foot ulcers met primary and secondary endpoints in a recent clinical trial that compared the product with conventional treatment. The study included 131 diabetes patients who received weekly applications of Grafix or conventional treatment. In the trial, 62% of patients receiving Grafix had complete wound closure compared with only 21% of patients who received conventional treatment.
