Morning Movers: Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) and Stratasys Ltd. (NASDAQ:SSYS)

Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) Social networking tycoon has fixed a problem that possibly result in leaking phone numbers of users to application developers, a security salesperson reported over the weekend.

In a blog post, Sophos reported that the bug in the API (application programming interface) was found out in the start of June 2012, and affected the email field in few mobile apps.

Facebook (FB) reported that that when retrieving a user's email address through graph API, app developers were getting a 10-digit number once for each 1,000 users, more or less, in place of the accurately formatted email address the documentation states that the field should come back, it added.

But Sophos mentioned that Facebook’s Alvin Sng as stating the problem should now be resolved.

Now this should be resolved, Thanks for your patience. The email field would now come “null” if the user does not have an email address,” Sng added.

Stratasys Ltd. (SSYS) shared jumped up 8% early on Monday after the 3-D printing agency announced its first post-merger earnings on Monday, topping profit predictions.

Stratasys reported that non-GAAP fourth-quarter net income came in $16.3 million, or 40 cents per share, in contrast with a year-earlier loss. Experts surveyed by FactSet had predicted earnings of 38 cents per share. The stock was among the hottest running stock of Monday session.
