San Francisco, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/20/2013 -- Only half a year after Louise Mensch announced that she would be quitting British politics in order to focus on her family, the former MP for Corby and East Northamptonshire has now decided to throw everyone a curve-ball and launch a fashion website.

Unfashionista was announced through Mensch's Twitter account earlier in the week, and was promised to be “A Lazy Girl's Guide to Gloss'.

Before her political retirement and migration to New York with her three children in tow and Husband by her side, Mensch gained a reputation as a sort of Westminster fashionista in residence.

For the sake of fairness, with such a lack of attractive women, a female MP under 70 and below a size 16 dress size was bound to be labeled as something of a fashionista. Still, the glossy monthly magazine's found their way to her. As one would expect, the line between MP and celebrity became a bit blurred from all the attention she began to receive from the magazines and fashion insiders.

The website lookers to be a useful way for Mensch to get experience in a field she has been flirting with in recent years. The site is geared toward women who are working-types and mothers who are just finding their way out of the cavernous void that is infants. There is a lack of high-brow foolishness and a stronger helping of sensible fashionable tips. Mensch has used plenty of her firsthand wisdom within the site itself.

The site also prizes itself on the logical rather than the divinely absurd that is often found in fashion. "No plastic surgeon and no stylist can do for you what a little exercise can,” she writes.

While some may scoff at her attempt in the fashion world, despite only flirting with it, Mensch seems interested in playing it to her advantage.

"When a tomboy discovers fashion it's a potent cocktail of wonder and shame", she explains of her post-natal transformation.

"For me, the key thing was my lack of patience over anything uncomfortable. Hence, flat shoes, frumpy clothes, zero style, most of my life."

"After my third child was born I weighed in at 175 lbs. I'm now 128. No personal trainer, no gym, no diet, nothing but the road, the park, and my headphones".
