Largest upgrade in a decade is sure to please most
San Francisco, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/31/2012 -- Recently, Apple gave its iTunes system the largest overhaul since 2003, which was when the software was only a jukebox for Mac computers. The the time, the overhaul was so that iTunes could be utilized on Windows computers, as well as the iTunes store being added.
Apple's iTunes has an estimated number of users that is said to be within the top-end of hundreds of millions. The early reviews of the upgrade are positive, as there have been no severe glitches or problematic logistics or misfiring to report. The speed and function of the program appear to be unhindered by bloatware and cumbersome advertising.
While the newest version of iTunes is certain not to please all who use it, it is still a solid looking upgrade. For those pessimists and curmudgeons, the changes to longstanding features may be a bit upsetting, but the changes were claimed to be made in the name of simplification and expediency. Also, those who use iTunes simply to manage and re-organize their music selection may find the upgrade to be a bit more aggressive in regards to buying from the Apple store. While that update may be obnoxious, it should also not be a surprise.
The system is not without its flaws, but Apple is declaring it will fix them promptly.
The new iTunes has been fitted with more color and 'personality', with clever and pleasing capabilities. It has also been fit with a faster search. The integration between library and media on one's computer has also been streamlined. The streaming capability from the cloud has also expanded. The general look of the store is cleaner, more simplex, and easier to navigate and use.
The updated iTunes 11 will function on PCs that run Windows 7 as well as the Windows 8 operating systems. Mac users will need the older desktop iMac and a late-model MacBook Air laptop to run the program smoothly.
