Non-premium tickets for the New York Jets cross the triple digit mark!
San Francisco, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/29/2012 -- The New York Jets have the dubious distinction of the highest average ticket prices in the NFL. Prices of non-premium tickets have risen to $117.94, according to Team Marketing Report’s Fan Cost Index.
The price puts the Jets 10 cents beyond the New England Patriots, and far beyond the average league price of $78.38. This marks a 2.5% increase in from last year’s average. The average family cost has also risen, with a 3.9% increase from last year up to $443.93.
High-priced non-suite tickets for other teams include the New York Giants at $111.69, the Chicago Bears at $110.91, and the Dallas Cowboys at $110.20. The cheapest average seats are the Cleveland Browns at $54.20, the Buffalo Bills at $58.36, and the Jacksonville Jaguars at $59.54.
The Team Marketing Report notes that 10 teams raised prices for tickets a minimum of a percent. This is a one-team increase from last year, where sales were negatively affected by the player lockout. Chicago saw the highest increase in price, at 9.3%.
Ticket prices are not the only thing on the rise. The average purchasing cost of a beer is up 15 cents to $7.28 from last year.
