Sony Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:SNE) shares gained 3.15% to $17.71. An analyst at Daiwa Securities recently boosted rating on the stock to ‘buy’ from ‘neutral,’ citing that the company could turn profitable in fiscal 2014 due to strong smartphone sales.

Additionally, the company, on Mar. 13, said it is planning to release mid-range phones in its Xperia lineup. One device is that expect to have an association with the Xperia L.
