The Company announced after the market closed on Monday that The Higher Learning Commission has determined that Apollo's wholly-owned subsidiary University of Phoenix is not in compliance with Criterion One of the Criteria for Accreditation, Core Component 1d, and certain of the related Minimum Expectations.

US Airways Group, Inc. (NYSE:LCC) moved down 4.05% and closed $13.02 on a traded volume of 7.19 million shares. The executives from the airlines will tell lawmakers on Tuesday that the merger of American Airlines and US Airways Group Inc. would allow the companies to combine complementary networks, preserve competition and save $1 billion.
A federal bankruptcy court will consider approving the merger of American Airlines and US Airways during a hearing on March 27. AMR and US Airways Group Inc. announced last week that they plan to merge in a deal valued at $11 billion in stock. The deal also requires the approval of U.S. antitrust regulators and company shareholders. The companies expect to close the merger by the end of September.
