Some unique street art is vanishing forever, on buildings, under bridges, on the side of trains. Let's not lose these forever.
Sarasota, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/09/2013 -- Paul DuBose has traveled this great country for many years, and has seen many wonderful works of art on buildings and sidewalks, under bridges, on train cars. This is not graffiti, but true works of art done to beautify the landscape or a neighborhood. The buildings are being knocked down, painted over, or the paintings are lost through the ravages of time.
Paul's plan is to use his digital camera to take pictures of these works of art during his travels, to get in touch with the artists who created theses paintings, and find out what inspired them to paint these works, and exposing them to the world, a world that may never know of them and that their inspiration. Their work may never be seen outside their own neighborhood unless Paul's project becomes a reality.
Paul will be mostly walking and using public transportation to get to the dark places, back streets, alleys, inside abandon buildings where these works may be concealed.
Every project has its problems this one is no different. Street gangs, thugs, pickpockets, and animals may pose a threat to Paul's project. He will talk to the police to find out if an area is dangerous. He hopes to find these Murals with the help of local people and the police who can point me in the right directions. After taking the pictures, he will seek advice and counsel of art museum curators, and others in the art industry to see what will be the best pictures to include in the book.
This project will only be funded if at least $20,000 is pledged by Wednesday Apr 24, 7:02pm EDT.
